Amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is a global organization working to improve social and environmental conditions in international supply chains. It is not a certification in the traditional sense, but rather a membership-based system where companies commit to a shared Code of Conduct and engage in continuous improvements in collaboration with their suppliers.

Amfori BSCI offers a platform and a set of tools that help companies to:

Identify and manage risks in their supply chains
Monitor and improve working conditions among suppliers
Ensure compliance with social and environmental standards
Promote responsible business practices globally

The organization bases its work on international guidelines from, among others, the United Nations, the ILO, and the OECD.

Members of Amfori BSCI commit to implementing and promoting the following 11 principles in their supply chains:

The right to freedom of association and collective bargaining
No discrimination
Fair remuneration
Decent working hours
Safe and healthy working conditions
No child labour
Special protection for young workers
No precarious employment
No bonded or forced labour
Protection of the environment
Ethical business behavior

These principles are supported by regular, independent audits and action plans for continuous improvement.
